The team

Husband and wife, Dennis and Alison Jones both have knowledge and experience of the not for profit, voluntary sector having been volunteers and trustees with both national and local charities.

Alison JonesAlison Jones -MCIPD, Grad IOSH, is a qualified and occupationally competent Human Resources and Health & Safety specialist with over 20 years experience. Alison is a lecturer for the new CIPD qualifications, a NEBOSH examiner and a qualified Health & Safety trainer and consultant. As Head of Centre, she is fully au fait with the process and procedures involved in centre and qualification approval.

Dennis JonesDennis Jones – Has a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management combined with over 20 years management experience.  His personal passion is to translate academic theory into everyday practice to lasting, sustainable change especially for individuals who have been away from education and training for a long time or simply did not enjoy learning the first time around.

Dennis prides himself on his patience and professionalism along with his ability to call upon personal experience, developed over many years in sales and business development.  Work experience includes recent experience in education and training working for national training providers, an awarding organisation and not for profit educational charities on vocational qualifications development on a national and international basis.

Jan LewisJan Lewis – Associate Director, Jan Lewis, a qualified nurse, has over eight years experience in running a successful NVQ training centre as Operations Director before joining the Charity Direction.

Jan and her team specialise in vocational training and development delivering competence based qualifications in Team Leading, Management and Health & Social Care from level two to level four including the increasingly sought after and highly regarded Leadership & Management in Care Services.

Tony GibbsTony Gibbs – Completing the senior management team is Tony Gibbs, founder of Volsector and Charity Training and author of ‘How to make it as a charity manager’ bringing a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years experience as a senior manager and director of both local and national charities. Tony is advisor to the directors and associate lecturer in addition to being a keynote speaker on third sector issues particularly involving education and training.  Tony is also a Master Practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming (‘NLP’ to its friends).

Charity Direction’s Associates are all competent, qualified and experienced consultants, trainers and assessors chosen for their particular expertise in the not for profit sector working with regional and national charities and their enthusiasm and commitment to our learners.  We also encourage them to think commercially to ensure our clients become business like without becoming a business and potentially losing sight of why we are all here – to help and support others through our passion, commitment and experience.
