On successful completion of this unit a learner will:

• Understand accounting concepts, conventions, and the statutory framework for preparing financial information
• Understand the impact of different sources of charity funding on a charity organisation’s strategic and operational planning processes
• Be able to use budgetary techniques
• Understand cost, cost control and break-even analysis
• Understand marketing and fundraising principles and practices in relation to achieving organisational goals
• Be able to use the marketing mix in different contexts
• Be able to propose fundraising activities to meet identified financial targets
• Be able to agree a project to research
• Be able to apply problem solving skills to a management issue
• Be able to report project outcomes
